Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type String. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

This function, unlike Boolean.Parse, correctly parses a boolean value, even if the string value specified is a number (e.g., 0 or -1). Boolean.Parse expects a string to be represented as "True" or "False" (i.e., Boolean.TrueString or Boolean.FalseString respectively).
